FCAA Welcomes Three New Board Members

Washington, D.C., February 06, 2020 – Funders Concerned About AIDS (FCAA), the leading voice on philanthropic resources allocated to the global HIV/AIDS epidemic, today announced the election of three new members to its Board of Directors. Led by Chair Channing Wickham, Executive Director of the Washington AIDS Partnership, the FCAA Board provides leadership and guidance on the direction of FCAA’s mission and operations. The Board also plays a key role in stewarding the organization’s efforts to help self-identified HIV private funders maximize the impact of their resources while partnering with broader philanthropy to address the social drivers that fuel the epidemic.

The board will welcome the following three new Board Members:

  • Crystal D. Crawford is a program director at The California Wellness Foundation, where she currently manages grantmaking related to HIV/AIDS and STIs, re-entry and diversity in the health professions. Crawford previously served as CEO of the California Black Women’s Health Project (CABWHP), the only statewide organization solely devoted to improving the health of California’s black women and girls through policy, advocacy, education, and outreach. Crawford currently serves as a Commissioner of the Los Angeles County Public Health Commission.
  • Kali Lindsey is the Portfolio Lead for US and Global LGBT programs at the Elton John AIDS Foundation. He is a specialized grantmaker and organizational development expert, bringing almost two decades of experience with not-for-profits, clinical institutions, and community networks at the regional, national, and global level.
  • Stellah Bosire is the Co-Executive Director of UHAI-EASHRI, Africa’s first indigenous activist fund supporting sexual and gender minorities and sex worker human rights. Her specialization is in Global/Public Health, policy making, healthcare management, health rights and grantmaking with a focus on sexual and reproductive health and rights.

“A core priority for FCAA is driving robust funding that not only addresses the HIV/AIDS epidemic, but also the underlying social drivers that continue to fuel it,” said FCAA Executive Director John L. Barnes. “That requires having insight and reach into broader philanthropic and community spaces. These three leaders – bringing with them diverse approaches and geographic and population funding expertise – will be an invaluable addition to those efforts.”
