Kenedy Abott
Kenedy Abott is a human rights and social justice educator and activist who challenges traditional gender constructs, which he believes foster division and spews harm. He currently serves as a Program Officer for MPact Global Action for Gay Men’s Health and Rights, where he is managing the Africa programs, and supporting with grantee learning and institutional resilience. Previously, he was the lead for Knowledge, Evaluation, and Learning at UHAI EASHRI; Africa’s first fund for and by LGBTIQ+ people and sex workers. Before joining UHAI, he founded and supported grassroot LGBTQ+ movement building and organizing across Kenya, and contributed to research and thought pieces from an Afro-centric perspective and with lived realities. He possesses a good eye on intersectionality and socio-political analyses including the drivers of health outcomes, namely the impacts of structural and systemic issues as contributors to access imbalance, including HIV comprehensive services.
When he is not actively engaged with activism and other revolutionary work, he loves to do nature hikes, volunteer for social good causes or to sing karaoke even though not so good at it.
